Resurrection Power

We often get overwhelmed by our circumstances, and even as Christians, it sometimes feels as if there is no way out. When Jesus died on the cross, the event seemed final and to everyone, including the disciples, it appeared as if all hope was lost. They were in the depths of despair.

But three days later, the tomb was empty!

Everything changes when that what was dead is now alive. We don’t always know all the answers, and we don’t always know why bad stuff happens, but we do know that Jesus is resurrected. In the book of John, Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die” (John 11:25-26).

The resurrection of Jesus reveals the power of God, and the Word says that that same power now lives in us (Romans 8:11). We have a share in His resurrection. That means, our lives here on earth is not our end. As Christians, this must drastically change our outlook on life.

The key to walking in this power is having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you (Ephesians 1:18). This enlightenment (or understanding) enables us to endure hard times and to know that a tough season is not final. Jesus is risen! This knowledge of the resurrection power should encourage you to live boldly and with hope.
