For God to move in our lives we need to create an environment wherein faith can thrive. We are urged to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy (which means ‘set apart’) and pleasing to God, as this is our true and proper worship. When we’re living a sacrificial life, we live a life that is constrained. Meaning we do not conform to the patterns of this world, but that we are continually transformed by the renewing of our minds; as this enables us to test and approve what the good, pleasing and perfect will of God is (Romans 12:1-2).

The will of God is for that which is in heaven to be on the earth. But God is looking for a body that is holy and pleasing to Him to bring heaven into. Faith is the currency of heaven. Therefore, it is impossible to please God without faith. Hebrews 11:3 says that “by faith we understand”. In other words, our understanding is governed by faith. Your faith tells you that God is real, and this belief calls you into action to wilfully live a sacrificial life.

When you repent and turn away from your old ways, you are a new creation, a living sacrifice. Repentance is aligning yourself with God’s understanding. You acknowledge that how you see the world is wrong. The benefit of sacrifice is obtaining Kingdom understanding. When you align yourself with God’s Wisdom and His way of thinking, you create an environment in which faith can thrive.
