G O D

The word ‘God’ doesn’t have the same meaning to everyone. Several times in the Bible, people tried to create their own god, but in the presence of the Almighty God, no other god is able to stand (1 Samuel 5:4). Do we know who we are and where we are from? We are children of God, who have citizenship in Heaven. We are not of this world and therefore, we should not bow a knee to the things of this world.

In Galatians we read that God “gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age” (Galatians 1:4). When the presence of God is on our lives, it doesn’t matter where we are stationed, we are still rescued. Therefore, God puts His presence on us, and moves us to a place where He can do something through us.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not bow a knee to the image of King Nebuchadnezzar. As punishment, they were thrown in the fire, but the favour of God was on them. In troubling times, we need to realize that it is an opportunity for God to create a testimony, so that those who do not know God can see Him in our lives.

God responds to our faith. We are children of God; we have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7); we have peace in us; and we are given authority to tread on serpents and scorpions (Luke 10:19).
