Promises of God Part 1

Jesus didn’t die on the cross just so that we can be saved and then go to heaven. God wants to use our lives to show what is possible. The greatest revelations of God are discovered in the journey that we walk with Him here on the earth. We shouldn’t sit around and wait to go heaven before we start walking in the promises of God.

We must ensure that we understand these promises and how they apply to us as children of God. We have an inheritance, but we deny it. We run around as poor, broken and lost people chasing after things we already have access to in God. Ignorance, a lack of understanding and being blind to the truth of God’s Word are the things keeping us from laying hold of His promises.

The value of a promise depends on the trustworthiness of the person who makes the promise. Before any promise from God can manifest in our lives, we need to know who God is and believe that His character is enough. The problem is that many of us do not know God’s character, and then we want to put God on the same level of all our past disappointments. When we doubt, we’re making His promises of no effect in our lives.

God is unchanging, therefore if He said a thing, it is true. We can trust in the promises of God, because He does not lie (Titus 1:2).
