Treasure: Fear of God Part 2
The fear of God does not make us afraid of God, for He did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). The fear of God protects us from sin and draws us closer to His presence.
The beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord (Prov. 9:10), which gives us access to the keys that unlock the treasures of Heaven (Is. 33:6). The fear of God will ensure we lack nothing good in our lives, and as we draw closer to Him, we learn to choose to walk in the fear of the Lord, aligning our actions according to His word and perfect will for our lives.
As we walk on the earth, our actions are a testimony of the fear of the Lord, for everything we do is to give glory to God’s name (Rev. 14:7). The fear of the Lord reveals God’s secrets to us and brings revelation to our souls that leave us in reverence with God, for it is the beginning of all wisdom. True wisdom comes only from understanding who God is and that He is holy and righteous and desires us to have everything good and perfect.
The fear of God is the basis for our walking in His ways, serving Him, and being in absolute awe of Him.
