WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?
In the book of Ephesians, we’re reminded of the importance of our spiritual attire. It’s easy to become preoccupied with life’s material and visible aspects, but Ephesians 1:3 reminds us of the spiritual blessings we’ve received in Christ. Are we more concerned with what the world sees or what is unseen but eternally significant?
Ephesians 1:15–21 tells us that we have a glorious inheritance, and Ephesians 2:6 emphasizes that we are seated in heavenly places, not tethered to the limitations of this world. Our existence serves a profound purpose, as Ephesians 3:8–10 explains. We are here to display God’s wisdom to the spiritual powers around us, to declare that He is God, our Lord—the Savior of our lives—and that we belong to Him.
The church, as revealed in Ephesians, is central to this purpose.
Ephesians 6:10–16 introduces the concept of the armour of God. The question is, do we carry power in the spiritual realm? God has blessed us with His armour not just for our protection but so we can boldly display who our God is to the world.
In this faith journey, remember that what you wear spiritually is more vital than your physical attire. Your life is a testament to the power and wisdom of God, visible not only to the human eye but to the principalities and powers in the heavenly realms. Embrace the armour of God, and boldly show the world that you belong to the One who has saved you and equipped you for a greater purpose.
